Campground Review – Orange Grove RV Park – Bakersfield, CA

Since the temps were ridiculously hot in La Quinta, CA we decided to head a bit more north to escape the heat. We decided on Orange Grove RV Park in Bakersfield, CA. The temps were significantly cooler – in the 70s/80s. 😀

**I would like to note that we were at this park during COVID-19. No amenities were open except for the laundry so I’m not able to comment much on them.**

This park is located right off HWY 58. Super easy to get to. All sites are pull through & FHU. All the sites would fit our fleet (41ft Toy Hauler, RZR, Dually & Raptor… plus our squat rack, patio chairs and grill). If we can fit, you can fit! 😉

PRICES: Nightly: $45-55 -prices vary depending if you want FHU or you have Good Sam
Weekly: $295 – electric included.

We were in site 160 which is right across from the laundry room, fitness center and bathrooms.

The laundry machines are bluetooth (they also take quarters). You download an app, load money on to it from your bank account or credit card, and then connect via bluetooth to the machine to pay. It was probably my favorite thing about this park!! 🙂

You are able to receive packages here.

Propane is on site here at the park which is AWESOME!

**Side Note: We had dog food delivered to us from a local boutique. It’s called ‘Bakersfield Pet Food Delivery‘ and they are fantastic! They delivered right to our door – we buy raw dog food (frozen) and when they delivered it, it was still frozen! 😀

Below are our requirements when searching for a spot. Yours may be different. These categories are what we consider important.

SITE QUALITY: 3/5 – Sites are long, wide & level. Hookups are close. You are close to your neighbor but there are orange trees in the middle of each site separating them a bit. Gives the illusion of privacy! Ha ha! 😉 You are still packed in like sardines.

PET FRIENDLINESS: 4/5 – They allow pets at no extra charge & they have several dog parks/areas that are fenced in. We aren’t fans of the dog park – nobody wants their dog walking around in grass that gets peed and poo’d on but for those who are fans, they have nice green, soft grass. 😛

CELL SIGNAL: 5/5 – Verizon was good! 62 down / 46 up. AT&T was even better! 154 down / 18 up.

THE VIEW: 1/5 – Although orange trees are cool… the view isn’t that great. I don’t enjoy looking at other peoples RV’s.

LOCATION: 1/5 – The location is okay at the RV park. The area around the park is pretty ghetto. Not our taste. I drive across town to Sprouts & Target to do my shopping – not the local Walmart near the park. That’s just me & my opinion. You might have a different take on it. However, if you’re just stopping over for a night, you probably wouldn’t even notice.

Disregard the red squares – those were monthly spots that were available.
$625-$725/month electric included- just FYI 🙂 We decided against it. We thought the prices were too high for what they were offering.
