This old mining town is the real “South Park.” It’s not official, but Fairplay is generally considered to be the inspiration behind the town in the show.
SITE QUALITY: 4/5 – The site quality was good. The spots were level and the hookups were in a good spot. This place has FHU sites, partial sites and dry camping sites. The sites are stacked next to each other so when this park gets packed, you’ll get to know your neighbor.
PET FRIENDLINESS: 4/5 – It is a pet friendly park. I don’t believe there are breed restrictions either. They have a dog walk down by the creek.
ACCESSIBILITY: 3/5 – To get to this RV park you have to pull into Prathers Market grocery store and go to the right. The RV park is located at the bottom of the hill to the left. I think it’s a bit confusing (some people were driving around the grocery store parking lot looking for the entrance to the park) & could use some more signage BUT once you know where to go, it’s easy to get to and park your rig.
CELL SIGNAL: 5/5 – Cell signal was great for both Verizon and AT&T.
THE VIEW: 3/5 – The view was OK. You could see the mountains depending on where you’re parked.
LOCATION: 5/5 – Location was fantastic (which is why we picked it). It’s close enough to Breckenridge without being in the town. Lucky for us, Breck kept its lifts open!
