One of the many, many perks of our nomadic lifestyle are all the amazing sunsets we get to see from all over the country.

When the sun rises or sets, the light passes through a much larger column of atmosphere to reach your eyes, so more scattering occurs. The lower the sun is on the horizon, the steeper the angle, and the more orange, pink, and red you see.

Watching the sunset from our patio on the RV is the perfect way to end the day. Capturing them with a camera is the tricky part – it just doesn’t give the view justice.

We’ve recently been using Gimp to chase the sunsets – we can get to higher ground, quicker!

I think one of the most interesting things about sunsets is that the sunset you are seeing now, you will never see again. “You have never been older, and you will never be this young again.” I don’t know about you, but it makes us really appreciate every moment we are here. Living in the ‘now’ and realizing that you only get one life was a defining moment in our lives that lead us to this lifestyle.

You can only put things off for so long until they just disappear. Time doesn’t go backwards – it just keeps moving forward. Just like each sunset. You will never see the same sunset again and there are only so many sunsets you get in a lifetime. Chase them. Cherish them. See as many as you can from as many places as you can. You won’t regret it.

Oh! And take a photo! 🙂
